SUSTAINABILITY note
what we do
At HAIL Europe, we’ve embarked on a journey of action—our efforts center on reducing plastic production, minimising waste generation, and optimising energy consumption. We collaborate with brands committed to developing impactful products and prioritising circular design principles. We aim beyond mere carbon emission reduction, aspiring to embed circularity throughout our operations, including regeneration and recycling initiatives.
Our ultimate objective is to contribute to a circular industry model. While we continue to work on refining solutions, our progress thus far is undeniable. Our association with numerous Green Key Hotels is no coincidence – it’s a testament to our shared commitment. The embodiment of our dedication is evident in our CO2-neutral head office and distribution centre, symbolizing the alignment of people, planet, and profit.
“ALTHOUGH OUR INDUSTRY IS STILL EVOLVING, OUR COMMITMENT TOSUSTAINABILITY REMAINS STEADFAST. WE ARE PROUD TO ANNOUNCE THAT WEHAVE OBTAINED OUR FIRST ECO-CERTIFICATIONS, INCLUDING ECOCERT, IN-HOUSE.”
examples of less plastic
We make it a priority to use recycled plastic as much as possible, with a focus on 100% rPET or rPE plastic. While not all of our products are currently made from recycled plastic due to certain limitations, it’s important to note that they are still recyclable. Most of our products are made from PET/PE plastic, which are the two optimal types for producing new plastic through recycling, thus streamlining the process for maximum efficiency. Additionally, we are committed to creating paper-based items using recycled kraft paper. Our production facility is fully capable of working with FSC-certified materials. Similarly, our fabric products are made from organic cotton under our careful supervision.
Our Wheat Straw line comprises items and bottles
containing 20% wheat straw (grain residue) and 80%
plastic. This innovative approach reduces the need
for 20 plastic bottles per 100 to be manufactured.
Stone paper, derived from stone dust remnants,
is both water-resistant and tree-free. To bind the
material, 20% plastic is added, eliminating the need
for tree pulp in its production.
Furthermore, we are dedicated to creating
paper-based items using recycled kraft paper.
Our production facility has the full capability to
work with FSC-certified materials. Similarly, fabric
products are fashioned from organic cotton under
our curation.
HAIL Europe is a pioneer in the hotel industry,
dedicated to streamlining waste separation.
Recognizing the need for significant improvements,
HAIL has partnered with Bonton to offer its Circubin
to hotels. This innovative solution, crafted from 100%
recycled plastic, facilitates efficient waste collection
and fosters clean recycling streams within hotels.
Additionally, there’s the exciting potential to upcycle
plastics from waste packaging materials into new
Bonton products, as they share the same materials.
